The "masters" of Naps were as much a part of its mystique and ethos as were the history and ideals of the institution. The collective force of Naparima's character and personality derives in part from the many extraordinary teachers who subscribed to its ideals and embodied them in one way or another, achieving dimensions of impact and character that were larger than life. In many cases, they were also graduates of the school, and several were also associated with various community or broader educational interests. Note: The graduates of Durham University in England were alumni of Codrington College in Barbados, today incorporated into the University of the West Indies. The British classical study graduates combined with Canadian missionary models gave Naps much of its unique academic flavour. All the years of Naparima's history are graced by many individuals who contributed much. The 1930's, the "middle decade" of Rev. Walls' term, marked the first flowering of the school into the full expression of its founders hopes and dreams.
