Mervyn Coudray at the Form One 60th Anniversary

Everyone who was at NC with Coud remembers Mervyn! He is in fine fettle though he claims to feel a little less active than he used to be. Both Henry and he were on the First Eleven in 1961.

Carnival 2016:
Milton Zaifdeen (NC1961)! home for Carnival...

Carnival in TT!

Milt Z. just spent a month in TT, meeting many old classmates. Milt met up with his old Gasparillo mates Dave and Val Ramsingh and also saw a lot of David Sammy.

Kelvin Harrysingh hosted a Naparima 60th Reunion for the 1956 Form One A/B cohort. Milt met Dr.Jonathan Huber, Dr. Mitra Sinanan, Nizammudin Saladeen, Leslie Sirju, Cimmings Dass, Leslie Mungal, Faiz Mohammed, Benny Bhikoo, Khairool Ali, Ayoub Sulaiman, Michael Ragbir, Mervyn Coudray, Henry Durgadeen and a large number of other boys from the time.

And here roving reporter Allen Sammy snapped a pic of Winston Cassiram, (NC1960), trekking down Cipero St in his home town. Cassie was captain of the First Eleven in his final year at NC, and is now retired after a teaching career.

New Year 2016:
Annetta (NC1962)! At Toco:

Mayaro last Christmas (see below), Toco this year! Annetta gets around, enjoying the sea, sky and sand. An elemental figure conversing with the original mantras of earth... Thanks for inspiring us, Netta, just as you did back in our school days!

Dec 31 2015:
Marjorie (Mulchansingh) Laltoo (NGHS1932) 100th birthday!

Marjorie (Mulchansingh) Laltoo, the oldest known alumna (and former teacher) of Naparima Girls' celebrated her 100th birthday on Old Year's Night. Mrs. Laltoo was married to the prominent NC alumnus, the late Ralph Laltoo, who passed away in 2004.

A group of about sixty friends and family attended the event. The standard congratulatory message was received from Buckingham Palace, and Mrs. Laltoo is seen here examining the document.

Mrs Laltoo attributes her longevity to her devotion to the simple values of family, church, and maintaining a clear, unburdened approach to life.

Xmas 2014:
Annetta and Paul Protain (NC1961/NC64):

Paul and Annetta, both retired, were caught by our roving reporter lounging on a tropical beach at Christmas. Some say Annetta was seen frolicking in the surf in the pale pastel dawn, emerging from the billows like a classical copy of Venus.

Paul retired from a career in mechanical drawing in Toronto, after graduating from Ryerson and U of T. Annetta has been retired for some years from Centennial College.

June 2014:
Clarence Madhosingh and Zalayhar Hassanali (NC1948):

Former classmates, Clarence Madhosingh and Zalay (Mohammed) Hassanali, got together in Ottawa recently. Zalay, with daughter Amena and son-in-law Brian Sutton, spent some days in the capital, renewing their decades-old school ties. See also Class of 1948.

May 2014:
Rab and Grace Maharaj (NC1961):

If you were in school in the 60's, or watching TV in TT in years following, you may remember Rab: he was House Leader of Sammy House, and then the weatherman on TV for many years. There are photos of him and his heart-throb Grace, under "Girls and Guys of 1961" below.

After retirement, Rab and Grace moved to Minnesota. Their two sons have made good careers in business - and recently one of their grand-children graduated as a medical doctor. The photo of Rab and Grace was taken at his graduation in May.
